Welcome to the bar at the crossroads to the multiverse!

Grab yourself a stool or a table and settle in for a relaxing evening. The drinks are never ending and the music will always keep playing, so long as no one tries to harm the pianist.

Also, please remember to take all fights outside and tip your servers. Without them, this bar wouldn't function and that would be quite a shame.

No matter where you've come from, or what you've done, you're welcome here. No one is a stranger in this bar, so don't be surprised if we already know your name.

Sincerely,
The Bartender

Shedding the Assassin's coat did not make his shoulder's ache less. It still felt as if the heavy fabric still rested there, made heavier by deep red stains that he couldn't get out. It had never been his coat to begin with, an old robe provided by Achilles to wear. The white fabric had been scrubbed so many times by Connor that it was threadbare.

He didn't bother cleaning it the last time he wore it. Charles Lee's blood stained at the cuff, over a different man's that splattered further up the sleeve. The fabric would have fallen to pieces in the water anyway.

Connor's last time in a bar was to kill a man. He wasn't a fan, to say the least. But there were few places he would have the opportunity to stop and eat.

In his bag was a bracer, wrapped in a black cloak with gold embroidery. When Connor finds a table to sit at he pulls it from the bag, parting the black fabric. He touches the worn leather, the old piece of metal in the shape of the Assassin's symbol. A lie, on his father's wrist, but perhaps carrying a bit more truth towards the ideals despite his choice of alliance.

Connor lifts it, feeling the weight, wondering if he would have played with it as a child should his father have been there. But beneath it was the journal Haytham had left behind. Connor was nearly finished reading it for.. he had lost count on the number of times he'd laid his eyes on his father's handwriting and words.

The air was scented with incense and smoke. The bar itself was clean, an unusual place for Altair to find himself in without reason. Still, the day was overly hot, and he felt a need to pass through the door. It was a strange place, some pieces seeming out of place while others fit just so. It was cooler, at least, from the heated sun blasting the sands.

There was no crunch of sand beneath his boots as he entered. This place must be swept thoroughly each day, the dirt of the world scrubbed clean from the counters. The hooded man took note, extending a hand to touch a counter, sliding fingertips over wood.

By the time he reached the corner, there was a glass set for him. Water, as it appeared. A simple enough request that he didn't need to make of the man behind the counter.

What an unusual place. But no signs, no banners or colors. Nothing to indicate it was for one faction or another. Just.. a peaceful place to sit and rest. So that he did, seating himself to carefully face the door out of habitual instinct.

[This bar was different from anything he'd ever set foot in before. From the outside it had seemed like any other building in Edge and then he'd walked inside and found himself staring. The lights were low but not so low that it was hard to see and the soft sound of piano music came from over near the small stage to his left. Behind the bar an older man stood idly drying a glass and Cloud found himself hesitating where he was for a moment longer before something urged him forward. Perhaps it was the calm atmosphere or maybe he just really needed a drink--it was hard to say.

Whatever the case, he slid onto one of the stools and rested his arms on the bar, giving the bar tender a slight nod.]

..What's the strongest thing you've got?

[The bar tender glanced at him then set down the drink he'd been drying, turning to snag a bottle off the shelf behind him before pouring Cloud a glass. Whatever it was had a soft blue tinge to it and Cloud eyed it a bit warily as the drink was set before him, contemplating it before his hand curled around the glass.]

Thanks.

[He knocked it back in one swift go, immediately wincing at the burn that came along with it. It wasn't terrible, though. He'd had far worse in the past. In fact, despite that initial burn it was actually quite good.

The blonde started to ask for another but the tender was ahead of him already, pouring another shot for him before he went back to cleaning. Cloud watched him curiously before picking up the glass to sip at it this time, allowing himself to relax as whoever was at the piano continued to play.]
